Contact Congressman Ami Bera

The City is unable to fund the Homeless Shelter on their own. Instead, they are relying on a grant from the Federal Government. Please help stop this grotesque use of Federal money. Ami Bera represents the community and children that will be adversely affected by the Homeless Shelter.

Please call Congressman Ami Bera's office at:

  • (916) 635-0505 or
  • (202) 225-5716

Identify yourself as a constituent that lives near the Children's Receiving Home and the proposed Homeless Shelter. Let them know that you do not support the funding of this project. Putting homeless (often addicted to drugs and/or mentally ill) within feet of traumatized, at-risk, children is unacceptable.

What is the Board of Supervisors?

While the abandoned Discovery Museum is within the borders of Sacramento City, our homes, and our families are not. The people of Arden and Carmichael are not "incorporated" and are represented by the Sacramento County Board of Supervisors. The Homeless Shelter will impact both the districts of Rich Desmond and Phil Serna. Let the Board of Directors know that you support the communities of Carmichael, Arden, and the Children's Receiving Home.

Support the Children's Receiving Home

The proposed Homeless Shelter would be located within feet of the Children's Receiving Home.

On the official website for the Children's Receiving Home, you can sign-up for news and information. Also, if you have any new toys or supplies that you think the children can use, please visit them at 3555 Auburn Ave. These children are escaping abuse, neglect, and other traumatic environments. They desperately need your love and support.
